Troy is a Chromium browser with its own chrome. You browse in it as usual. When you open the debugging port, an agent attaches over CDP and works in the tabs you already have, logins included.

brew install --cask velofy/tap/troyStart Troy with --cdp-port and any CDP client, such as Playwright, gets the tabs you already have open instead of a fresh, empty browser. The port is closed unless you ask for it, and Troy writes agent-endpoint.json so the agent can find it.
The agent panel (Cmd+Shift+A) reads the visible text of the active tab from the DOM. The detect script lists every visible form field with its question, selector, length limit and current value.
The repository is a Claude Code plugin with two skills. troy teaches an agent to attach, capture console and network events, and leave your tabs alone; apply-fill fills long forms one approved answer at a time and never submits.
Node scripts navigate, click and fill within a host allowlist, refuse submit buttons and ambiguous matches, and read the page back after each action. A click that changed nothing is reported as not verified.
New tab, close tab, focus the address bar, reload, zoom, back, forward and the agent panel are application menu shortcuts, so they keep working after you click into a page.
No history is recorded, nothing is sent while you type, and third-party trackers and tracking parameters are removed. javascript:, data: and similar addresses are refused, and camera, microphone and location requests are denied.
Install with Homebrew on macOS, or download the DMG or Windows installer from the latest release.
Start Troy with open -a Troy --args --cdp-port=9333, then browse and sign in as you normally would.
The agent reads agent-endpoint.json and connects with Playwright's connectOverCDP, which returns the tabs you already have open.
browser.close() on a CDP connection detaches the agent and leaves Troy and your tabs open.
No. It attaches to the Troy window you are using and sees the tabs already open, with your logins. Troy's skill tells an agent to open its own tab, close only that tab, and not steer a tab you are working in without asking.
No. It opens only when you start Troy with --cdp-port or set TROY_CDP_PORT, and it listens on 127.0.0.1. An open port is full control of every tab you are signed into, so it stays off by default.
Not yet. Today the agent panel reads the page from the DOM alone. A pipeline that adds OCR for the regions the DOM cannot explain, and a troy read command, are on the roadmap and not built.
Troy is ad-hoc signed but not notarised. For a downloaded DMG, Control-click the app and choose Open once. The Homebrew cask clears the quarantine flag, so it opens with no extra step. On Windows, choose More info, then Run anyway.
No release build yet. Troy runs on Linux from source with npm run browser, and CI runs its tests on Linux as well as macOS and Windows.
That is not the aim. There are no bookmarks, find in page, context menus, address bar suggestions or auto-update yet.
